Personal Computer Fundamentals
E-Mail Setup
In this lesson, you will learn:
Because of the importance of E-Mail in today's world for your Resumes and correspondence you will eventually need to set up an E-Mail account for yourself. This class covers setting up an email account on Yahoo Mail. Yahoo is the only E-Mail reader we will use in this class, so if you want to set up other types of Email accounts, check to see if there is a class for it. If not, go to the site and follow their tutorials.
This class will use Yahoo because the lessons and examples will apply for learning all of the basic skills for the Internet and e-mail readers that are out there. Although other readers have the same basic features, some are less user-friendly and therefore confusing, since they interact differently, and Yahoo Email is friendly, easy to use and free.
During the set up process you will be filling out a form. At the bottom of the form is an ACCEPT button. Before hitting the ACCEPT button, print out the form by using the Print button.
On the sheet that prints out, notice that all of the information printed EXCEPT THE PASSWORD. Please be sure to write down the password EXACTLY the same way (Case sensitive) as you entered it so that you have an exact record of what you submitted to Yahoo!! If you lose this information, you will not be able to access your account and your information will be LOST!
