Highlights:
The highlight for this time period is the set up of Ray's Music studio. The excitement of choosing platforms and DAW Software, workstations and controllers, mixers and patch bay / studio hardware is over. The hard work of connecting and testing and re-arranging the floor space again (and again as new pieces came in) is over.
Now all that remains is the pick and shovel work mixing the sample takes of all of the audio recorded and stored. I published the rough versions here as proof of concept and those will all be re-mixed on the new Pro Tools system.

Ray's Music
The studio is up an running now! With the final decision of what pproducts to buy and building the equipment, moving the studio to a new location and then getting everything up and running, it has been a whirlwind of activity. It took a month of product examination and reading brochures to decide on the final platform based on simplicity of use, reliability, and future scale-up of projects. The final decision was made and the purchases and deliveries made, hardware and software configurations and finally audio tests.The platform: Pro Tools M - Audio with an M-Audio Project Mix I/O control Surface running on an e-machine (for now) in a networked computer lab setting. The music is recorded on an MRS-802 and the audio DAT files are ported onto the remote drive, which is accessed through Pro Tools and converted to WAV.
The recordings then kept are compression free. Effects are kept to a minimum so the songs can be duplicated live without much hassle.
Ray's Music is the product of many years of singing in night spots, clubs, coffee houses etc. Ray's Music is a collection of music pieces acquired over the years. They are not for sale, but are freely distributed to all who want them.
